Hummerstons Gourmet Meats, of Lane Cove, has been operating since 1970 as a fine meat and small-goods establishment, servicing the lower North Shore with the best quality meat and excellent service for over 40 years.

Hummerstons Gourmet Meats is a leader in their field, providing customers with outstanding quality meat and small-goods in a consumer-friendly butcher shop with professional staff.

Our key responsibilities are freshness, quality, presentation and service.

At Hummerstons we have stringent quality standards when it comes to sourcing and selecting our products. We only buy M.S.A graded beef, which comes from Gympie in QLD. Our standards are not limited to meat: our pork is sourced from the Murray Valley in NSW, free range, added hormone and antibiotic free chicken from Victoria, Cowra Lamb(NSW) and our veal is sourced from Victoria and the Northern Rivers of NSW. We also provide a great selection of game. All of our sausages are made fresh on the premises, and includes a range of gluten-free and preservative-free sausages.

At Hummerstons we like to help make life easier for our busy customers by providing a free delivery service, covering suburbs from Roseville to Balmain. Ordering over the phone or by email is now even easier, with a comprehensive listing of our products listed within the pages of this website. We also provide a vacuum-packing service, which provides greater flexibility for longevity and storage, according to individual needs.

Hummerstons Gourmet Meats also strives to give back to the community, raising money for numerous charities and sponsorships through the ‘Buy Your Dog a Bone’ program. Hummerstons has supported and continues to support many charities over the years such as the Drought Relief, Breast Cancer Foundation, the Spastic Centre and the Heart Foundation, amongst many others; and most recently to Rural Aid to help with those in the Northern Rivers of NSW after the devastating floods in 2022. We also support many organizations throughout the local community.

Did you know: Pope Benedict XVI enjoyed meat bought from Hummerstons Meats!

In 2008, Hummerstons was bestowed the honour of providing meat for His Holiness Benedict XVI during his stay in Sydney during World Youth Day celebrations.

Over the years Hummerstons has received a host of awards and accolades.

One of the most significant awards to date has been winning the Australian Meat Industry Council’s TOP butcher shop award in 2005/2006.

Hummerstons Gourmet Meat is currently listed in the Sydney Morning Herald Foodie’s Guide – an indispensable guide to the latest and greatest food establishments in Sydney.

We achieved a five-star award from the AMIC in 2009, which further cements our reputation as being considered one of the finest meat and smallgoods retailers in Sydney.

In 2012 we were awarded Best Retail Butcher NSW by the Meat Industry Council.
