Ideally suited to students
2 or 3 afternoons per week
3:30pm or 4pm start time
5:30pm finish time

CUSTOMER SERVICE / SHOP ASSISTANT:
Saturdays essential – 7:00am – 1:00pm
Option to work 1-2 weekdays if desired

General duties such as restocking, packing, cleaning duties, option to learn knife skills and learn about how a small business operates

Experience not required, all training provided
APPRENTICE:
4 days per week in the shop
1 day at Granville TAFE
Complete your qualification in up to 3 years

At Hummerstons, one of Sydney’s leading premium butchers established for over 50 years, we blend traditional cuts and techniques with modern gourmet meal preparation. We’re now seeking a new talent to join our team as an apprentice.

Weekly Routine:
Monday: 7:30am - 5:30pm - Setting up for the week, packing, stock rotation
Tuesday: 8:00am - 4:30pm - TAFE at Granville (4 hours practical, 4 hours theory). Get paid while you study!
Wednesday: 7:00am - 5:30pm - Making mince and sausages
Thursday: Day off
Friday: 7:30am - 5:30pm - Serving, filling stock for sale, preparation
Saturday: 7:00am - 1:00pm - Serving and assisting butchers

No experience is necessary. With 5 fully qualified butchers boasting over 25 years of experience and 3 butchers' assistants, you’ll be guided every step of the way. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have completed three terms of Year 10—no HSC required.
